Treat Eezi Rise/ Recliner Chair Overlay, High-Risk. (195cm x 60cm x 3cm)
An inexpensive topper (195cm x 60cm x 3cm. Weight capacity up to 159kg) that redistributes pressure when seated in a recliner chair to prevent & treat pressure ulcers and reduce the risk of tissue damage
Introducing the New Treat-Eezi Rise Recliner Chair Overlay designed to keep the patient who is sitting most of the day in a recliner type chair safe from the highest category of pressure sores. Recliners came about by copying Tilt N Space Wheelchairs which are used to alter the pressure under the ischial bones by way of altering the position of the body whilst seated in a wheelchair. For those at risk of tissue damage, chair manufacturers decided it would be beneficial for users to have the same mechanism in an armchair, some went further by adding a standing position to aid the patient when getting up and some added backrest recline enabling the chair to go flat like a bed. I believe it true to say 100% of these chairs use foams as the materials for both back and base and in most cases, these are firm to the touch and then covered with different materials such as leatherette and cloth.
Sadly with more and more people becoming inactive, these chairs are in great demand, however, they do not offer the protection required to keep the user safe against pressure building up at the contact points which help with the shearing of the tissue taking over and the startup of grade 2, 3 and sometimes grade 4 pressure damage. There are now available various foam overlays from different companies who are placing their products onto these chairs and helping grade 1 and 2 pressure ulcers.
The Treat-Eezi (High Risk) Rise Recliner Chair Overlay goes further by using the layered Polyester 3 Way Weave Technology which envelopes the contact areas on the top layer and when movement occurs from the user the second, third and fourth layers start to glide against each other to halt the shearing of the tissue along with protecting the entire body by offering upwards pressures which in most cases are in the range of 28mmHg to 32mmHg (peripheral blood flow) hence keeping those peripheral arteries open and blood flowing freely. Prevention will always be a better option above curing so to be safe use the same technology in a Recliner chair as we do in a hospital/nursing home/home care bed. The New TEM60 Treat-Eezi is the ideal product for those looking at spending hours in a recliner and sometimes sleeping in the same chair.
